How to Avoid the Hassle of Going through a Data Recovery Process

Although there are many ways to recover lost data, even from physically damaged hard drive units, there is no guarantee that it will always work or that you will recover all your data. So, the best way to avoid such problems is to be very careful with your data in the first place. Here are several solutions for preventing data loss.

  • Cloud services. Cloud technology is on a quick rise. As you may have noticed, cloud storage becomes more and more affordable every year. Not to mention that there are plenty of applications out there (Google Drive, Drop Box, Box, etc. ) that offer quite a lot of cloud storage for free. So, consider backing up your data on a cloud service. Make sure however, that you choose a technology that has a very strict data privacy policy.
  • Backup HDD. Keeping a backup of your data on the same hard drive is not recommended. If the unit malfunctions, then your backup can be lost together with the rest of your data. So, a more secure option is to back everything up on a different hard drive. Make sure that you use that unit only for backup purposes.
